Description

In this database, we have collected information about the coordinators "and" and "or" in a large number of languages. The data are drawn from reference grammars of the languages and represents all the information on coordination in that grammar that we could find.

On the left, you find links to all the languages sorted by language families that are in the database. The information is given as a pdf which you can download.

This database was a first step to the current database that collects data about agreement with conjoined and disjoined subjects via elicitation with native speakers. We ultimately decided to use this method as reference grammars almost never include relevant data.

Please note that this old database is not updated anymore. Nevertheless, we leave the information here for reference.
